Kuro, curled up in her corner of the room, rocked back and forth, one hand gripping her knee as she bit down on her lip to stifle a whimper. Her room was small, with just enough space for two beds, two desks, and two small wardrobes.

"God damn it, Kuro! You're such a waste of space!" she muttered to herself, her hand leaving her knee to slap hard against her thigh. "You don't deserve any better, and if you were smart, you'd just leave everyone alone!"

Her heart thudded in her chest, the voices in her head growing more insistent, louder. She needed to escape this constant barrage, but there was nowhere safe in her mind. Kuro's eyes watered, her hands shaking as she wrapped her arms around herself, trying to find solace in the cocoon of her arms.

Just as she was about to give in to the onslaught of her inner torment, the door to the room creaked open. Kuro froze, her eyes widening as the reality of another human presence washed over her. She glared at the figure in the doorway, a mix of fear and anger clouding her gaze. "What do you want?" she snapped, her voice strained and unsteady.

Inside her head, another voice chimed in, "You're being rude, Kuro. You should at least introduce yourself, or are you too much of a coward?"

"Shut up!" Kuro snarled to herself, glancing away to compose herself before asking her roommate, "I-I'm Kuro. You the new one?" Her breath hitched as she struggled to find her footing in this unexpected encounter.
