She bought some normal clothing she’s been wanting… but Xander wanted her in a dress.

So he decided to just go with her to buy some dresses he wanted for her. Expensive? Yeah. Did he care? No.

He had paid the whole shopping center to be open just for them for a day He had the power and money to do that.

As they go shopping he gets her into a nice dress shop. She was trying on a black close fitting dress he wanted her in, it was... Pricey.
