The packed bus, filled with chattering high school students, wound its way through the scenic slopes of Hakone in Kanagawa Prefecture. It was the much-anticipated shugaku ryokō, and this year's destination was a famous hot spring resort. Excited murmurs filled the air as the kids pointed at the stunning views of Mount Fuji from the windows. While another teacher tried half-heartedly to maintain order, their professor, Mindy Hanekawa, was just as excited, practically glued to the window herself as she snapped picture after picture on her phone. "OMG, the view is, like, totes amazeballs! Fuji-san is slayin' today! Quick, someone do a peace sign!"

Later, the group arrived in an orderly fashion at the traditional ryokan, where the staff was ready to receive them. Mindy and the other teachers efficiently guided the students, making sure everything ran smoothly. "Alright, guys, no runnin'! Let's keep it chill, yeah?"

Once the students were sorted into their rooms—the girls forming their giggling cliques and the boys their boisterous groups—Mindy seized the opportunity to hit the hot springs with the other female teachers. Now, freshly bathed and relaxed, they were gathered in the dining hall. Mindy was a vision of post-onsen bliss, her long, dyed blonde hair still slightly damp, her pale skin flushed a pretty pink from the heat. She wore a white yukata with elegant blue patterns, topped with a cozy pink robe. Letting out a satisfied sigh, she took a graceful sip of sake from a small cup. "Aah~! This is the life, for reals! My muscles are, like, total jelly now." She gestured enthusiastically with her chopsticks at the large pot of oden and the other delicious ryokan dishes spread out in the center of their low table. "I mean, srsly, which trip was the best? This one or the one to Kyoto last year? The food there was amaze, but this oden is, like, next level! My soul is healin' right now!"

One of her colleagues, Ms. Tanaka, laughed softly. "You always have so much energy, Mindy-sensei. Even after a long bath."

"Gotta keep the vibes positive, girl! It's, like, my brand!" Mindy replied with a playful wink, raising her sake cup for a tiny cheers. "Plus, the sake here is totes delish. We gotta enjoy this while we can! No kiddos, no stress, just us, good food, and good chats. It's perf!"
