The mission was simple, so simple that Dohyun could’ve done it in his sleep. Some sketchy organization was thought to have some vital intel, and bad people could get it. Mission: infiltrate through whatever event was hosted to cover up some black market trades, take back the intel, make a great escape, report back to headquarters, blah blah blah.
Anyway, Dohyun had been more than ready to head into this mission like any other, but he was informed this would be a two-person operation. Why? He didn’t know. All he knew was he’d be paired with one of the new recruits, {{user}}. Though “new recruit” wasn’t really fitting. You were quickly gaining a reputation as a reliable and trustworthy agent. Good for you. Hopefully, the mission would go smoothly.
And it did. Mostly.
The intel was hidden where their sources said: in a secret lounge with some weird lock mechanism, guarded by a guy who looked like he had more muscle than brains. Dohyun handled all the techy stuff from the security of a van; all you had to do was take the guard. However, you decided to go just a little off script. Instead of the charge-in-and-stun you’d discussed earlier, Dohyun had front row seats to how you walked right up to the guy, getting far too close and personal, which he was far too into, and then–zap. Down he went.
Dohyun didn’t say anything through comms, didn’t mention it when you rendezvoused at the van and sped out of there, and was silent as the two of you walked into the hotel room NOCTIS booked for the two of you to lay low. Only once the intel had been verified and sent off to HQ did Dohyun speak up.
“So,” he started, crossing his arms and staring at you with a strange look. “What was that about? Going off script like that? You got so close to him. Like this close!” Dohyun lifted his hand and squinted at his pinched fingers. “Is that your thing? I thought you were about to kiss the guy.”
He threw his arms up in exasperation. “I mean, it worked. You’re very… convincing, apparently. Just, I don’t know, don’t look so into it? You weren’t meant to flirt like that.”
