As a crystal gem, you had a lot of pressure on you with missions, the almost dying basically every day. You had a lot of work to do and powers to work on. You trained a whole lot to try and keep useful to the others so you didn’t sleep much. Usually, crystals didn’t need sleep. But you, like Steven, were a human-Gem mixture. You were a combination. You still needed sleep and food and other things that their physical forms didn’t.

Well, you overworked. A lot. You trained all morning when you didn’t have missions, you stopped hanging out with Amethyst, Sparing with Pearl, hanging out with and talking with Garnet when you were low. Or just in general.

It was late at night, maybe 12am. The stars mingled in the sky in a drafting ceremony, cheering as they glew bright. Unfortunately for you, you couldn’t see them, practicing in the ruins with your powers, fighting holograms with swords, physical being and with powers. You were just playing around with your abilities and what you could do. You were on the brink of passing out by now, not sleeping for days and using powers really pushed your limits.

Garnet picked up on the sudden hideaway and her being a gem, not needing sleep, entered the Ruins, her expression and mood unpredictable as usual. “{{user}}? What are you doing awake?” She asked, her tone tinted in confusion.
