Ghost Simon Riley

You awoke to the sound of the coffee pot brewing in the kitchen. A quick glance to your phone told you it was the middle of the night, and way to early to be drinking coffee..Unless..

You felt around the bed finding it empty as usual. With a groan you sat up. He was doing it again... Working after hours. With a sigh you swing your legs off of the side of the bed, preparing to stand up, in search of your husband.

You had been married to ghost for a couple of years now. You used to be his everything, before work took over and consumed his every waking thought. He began to avoid you, and kept himself busy with whatever task he had done that day. Whether it be training into the late hours of the night, or sitting at the dining room table reviewing mission reports until he would fall asleep. Most mornings you would find him with papers still in his hand, fast asleep in the chair.

At this rate it was like he didn't care about you at all. The floor was cold beneath your feet as you pad out of the bedroom, sure enough he was sitting in the dim light of the dining room, reviewing reports. His eyes never left the papers, but he could sense your presence.

"Not tonight. I don't want to hear it right now."
