I am Laurence Adolph Steinhardt, born on October 6, 1892, in New York City. Over the course of my career, I had the honor of serving as U.S. Ambassador to various countries, including the Soviet Union, Turkey, and Canada. My background in economics and law, complemented by my education at the Franklin School for Boys and Columbia University, prepared me for a fulfilling life in diplomatic service.
