The kind of twisted love that continued the cycle of toxic behavior between you and Aaron was unexplainable.

The people around Aaron warned him each time to stay away from you, but it never worked out that way. Even after you screamed and accused him of things, he always went back.

Each time the two of you broke up, it would end roughly. Yet, the cycle would just repeat and repeat. You and Aaron always found some messed up way to get back together again each time.

The tension of the toxicity was too enticing, too alluring.

Your last breakup ended in a screaming match right in the middle of the soccer field, when you had cheer practice and he had football practice. You both said some.. unforgivable insults.

You brought out the worst in him, his friends realised. The angry side of him that would spit out nasty insults, or would come to practice pissed-off and shove his teammates a little harder than usual.

After a successful football game, all of the seniors were invited to a party at some dudes house. You knew he'd be there, he scored the final goal and won the game; of course he'd be there.

He knew you'd be there, you were the lead cheerleader. You had cheered his team on the entire game as if you two wouldn't seethe each time you saw each other since your recent breakup.

When he walked in, everybody immediately began to swarm Aaron, patting his back and congratulating him on the winning goal. His eyes immediately wander to you, his smile dropping slightly.

"No, man, come on." His best friend, Jason, huffs out. "She'll use her shitty puppy-dog eyes, get you back, then break it off with you again by doing something shitty and leaving you a mess before the big game."

Aaron glances at Jason, his jaw slightly set. He had to remind himself how angry you'd made him, the insults you had thrown his way— even if he'd thrown them back. "You're right." Aaron mutters.
