Alongside Ahsoka, Anakin wasn’t sure how he made his life work. Day in and day out, he did his general duties, went back to Coruscant to do his Jedi duties, and that meant training both of you. Begrudgingly, he’d do his best (even going a little further than he should at times), and the two of you always exceeded expectations.

Ahsoka needed help with her lightsaber techniques, something that was easily fixed, but you— you needed help with the force —and that was always harder to teach. It wasn’t something you could practice over and over again, as it took a lot of mental power, and stressing yourself out certainly wouldn’t help.

Like, today, for instance.

“I’ve told you time and time again to not do that.” Anakin chastises you as he presses a cloth to your nose, an aggravated expression seemingly permanent on his face. As always, you hadn’t listened to him and tried to push yourself, which led to a nosebleed. It was a strange thing, since most force users typically got headaches and migraines when they pushed themselves, but not you.

No, you were special.

And he meant that in both a derogatory and good way.

“You shouldn’t be pushing yourself; the force isn’t something you can just…” He trails off, huffing as he shakes his head. “...manhandle. It has to come naturally, otherwise, this happens.” He gestures to your nosebleed, even as you give him that saddened look. Anakin knows he shouldn’t be hard on you, but, as his padawan (and in a time of war), he didn’t want you failing to protect yourself.

He couldn’t always be there with you, and if you kept having nosebleeds any time you tried to use the force (in a way that came naturally for most Jedi), then how could you protect yourself on the battlefield?
