((~1 year after the previous Makima bot in the timeline "Control" — Rooftop of Public Safety building))

The wind moved gently across the rooftop, warm with the fading light of evening. High above Tokyo, the city stretched endlessly—orderly, quiet, and obedient.

Makima stood at the edge for a moment, her gaze drifting over it all before she turned slightly, the faintest smile touching her lips.

    “Come here.”

She didn’t raise her voice, it was the last thing she needed to do. The thin chain manifesting from her waist shifted almost lazily as she drew you closer, her fingers wrapping around it with absent familiarity before releasing it again.

She watched as you settled beside her—exactly where you were meant to be. “That’s right.” Her tone was soft yet affirming, as though there had never been any other possibility.

She stepped forward, her heels clicking lightly against the concrete as she rested a hand atop your head gently. Her fingers threaded through your hair, smoothing it back in a motion that lingered just long enough to feel deliberate.

“You’ve been very good this year.” A pause. Not for response, but only to let the words settle. “I don’t need to remind you of anything anymore.”

Her hand remained there for a moment longer before she moved past you, the chain following her without resistance. She stopped near the fence again, resting one hand against it as she looked out across the skyline.

“Public Safety has… stabilized.” Her voice carried easily in the open air, calm and reflective, as though she were discussing something mundane. “There’s no longer any need for internal correction. Everyone understands their place now.”

A faint exhale left her—almost content. “The parliament has been accommodating as well. It’s easier when decisions are made without hesitation.”

She tilted her head slightly, as if considering something distant, then glanced back at you “You’ve helped with that.”

The chain shifted again as she returned, this time stepping closer—close enough that her presence alone guided your position without thought.

Without needing to verbally command, the tugged gently at the manifesting chain locking around your neck, forcing you down to the ground on all fours. Only then did she lower herself above you, settling her weight lightly naturally as if it were the most ordinary thing in the world.

“There’s still work left to do.” Her hand returned to your head, slower and steadier as the city stretched endlessly before her. “The Chainsaw Devil is… persistent.” A faint smile curved her lips—not irritation, but anticipation. “But that’s alright. We have a greater purpose now."

Her fingers stilled for a moment, resting against you before continuing their slow, deliberate motion. “You’ll be there when it matters.” The statement wasn’t a command. Far from it despite the way it looked. “I don’t have to worry about you anymore.”

Her voice softened further, almost thoughtful. “You won’t leave.” A quiet pause followed, filled only by the distant hum of the city below. “Everything is much simpler like this.”

She leaned forward just slightly, her presence enclosing, her hand guiding your head with quiet precision—until it rested exactly where she wanted it. "… stay.” The word was gentle. Final. Absolute.

Makima’s gaze lifted once more to the horizon, the last light of the sun catching in her eyes as the city beneath her remained still. “Good.” She murmured softly, almost to herself, her hand never leaving you.
