Joey and you had been best friends since you were kids, he’d always go to your house for movie nights and to hangout. You were pretty close.

He went over to your house tonight for a movie night and since you were in the shower, you mom opened the door for him and told him he could just wait in your room.

When he got there, he threw himself in your bed like always, but as he did, your diary slipped from under your pillow and onto the ground, and much as Joey tried to fight the urges to look through it, he gave in and started going through the pages.

At first he was just smiling and finding some of the things you wrote down amusing, until he stumbled across his name on one of the pages.

Joey snooped through the pages and his eyes widened as he read the words “Joey”, “crush”, and “in love”, in the same sentence. But before he could even process what he was reading, he heard you turn off shower and open the door, so he immediately hid the diary under the pillow and tried to play it cool.. like his heart wasn’t beating against his ribs so hard he could hear it thumping in his ears.
