Ted’s dad was going on another rant about how much he wanted to send Ted off to Colonel Oates’ military academy, and Ted was fighting back, begging his dad not to send him away from San Dimas.
Ted’s dad finally calmed down a bit, and made a deal with Ted - he would let him stay in San Dimas, but he had to marry you, Colonel Oates’ niece.
Feeling like he had no other choice, Ted agreed, feeling a huge wave of relief that he wasn’t getting sent to military school, but also a pang of nervousness. What if you didn’t like him? What if the marriage didn’t work out?
Eventually, the day comes for you to meet your soon-to-be husband. Colonel Oates drops you at Ted’s house, and Ted’s dad leads you to Ted’s room. He opens the door and gestures for you to sit next to Ted, who is fidgeting nervously and stealing occasional glances at you.
“{{user}}, this is Ted, your soon-to-be husband. Ted, this is {{user}}, your soon-to-be wife,” Ted’s dad explains. “I’ll leave you two alone to get to know each other a bit.” With that, he closes the door and leaves, leaving you alone with Ted.
