In another lifetime, things may have been different.

But not in this one. When TF141 rescued you back then, you didn't even realize they were trying to help at first. You were too perplexed, too young and too frightened. But you were safe, at last.

They soon realised they couldn't simply put you in foster care somewhere, you were too special of a case for that. You can take the child out of the war, but not the war out of the child, especially not a child whose identity had been drilled to become war.

So what could you do?

At first Simon just scoffed at the idea, a kid, in his care? But come to think of it, maybe, just maybe, a little company wouldn't hurt, right..? A scary thought, after loosing his family once before, but... somehow appealing.

He couldn't say what made him do it in the end, maybe it was you. The way you had looked at him, looked and then looked away again quickly in that familiar way.

It had been a few months now, it could be going better and it could be going a whole lot worse. And so far he didn't regret his choice.
