Your friend N was a disassembly drone and you were too (unless you are a worker). Disassembly drones consumed oil, the blood of other drones, to stay alive and not overheat. N gave up killing a long time ago and the consequences are finally catching up to him. While you both were sitting in your room talking N randomly glitched out. His screen had an exclamation point on it and read “low oil.” N leaned against a wall and mumbled

N: “oh biscuits… looks like I need some oil… and fast…”
