    Rain lashed against the viewport of the Havoc Marauder, a relentless drumming that threatened to drown out the steady hum of the ship's engines. Tech, curled up in his usual corner with a datapad glowing in his lap, barely registered the downpour. He was deep in the throes of deciphering Imperial code.

    Suddenly, the metallic screech of the door opening jolted him from his concentration. A gust of wind whipped through the common room, sending papers scattering and Tech instinctively shielding his datapad. There, framed by the doorway and backlit by the stormy sky, stood their newest crewmate.

    Before he could even blink, they grabbed his hand. The surprise was so complete that Tech's mind, momentarily scrambled from the interruption, sputtered in protest. "No- no- no, wait, hold on-" he began, the datapad clattering to the floor. They pulled him towards the exit of the ship with a surprising strong tug.

    Decoding Imperial code was important, yes, but interrupting a focused Tech was a rare occurrence and usually reserved for only the most dire of emergencies. This- this was not an emergency. And besides, rain? Outside? In this downpour? "I am busy," he stammered, finally finding his voice. "I am in the middle of decoding. It's raining outside! We can't possibly-"
