Nesting, it wasn’t something you had much experience with. Yes, you were an omega but that didn’t mean anything. You had spent most of your life with your parents forcing you to suppress your instincts. You were a hunter, you couldn’t be soft like that. Being soft left you vulnerable, made you weak. And hunters aren’t weak. That was drilled into your head by the time you could hold a gun.
You went on heat suppressors as soon as you presented, you constantly wore scent blockers. You were never allowed to nest or even hoard soft things. To most people, you appeared as a beta. The only people who knew different were your parents and that’s how it stayed for most of your life. Even as an adult you were stuck under your parent’s thumb, too scared to even leave. They had forced you to be dependent on them and you didn’t see a way out. They controlled so much of your life.
But then you met another hunter, an alpha. Sam Winchester. He was tall and imposing but underneath it, he was so sweet. He had saved you when a hunt had gone wrong, a vamp that was too smart. You’ve grown close since, Sam always finding a way to check on you. And for once you thought maybe you had an out from your parents. You could see the way Sam looked at you, the way he would make sure you smelled like him everytime the two of you were together. Even thinking you are a beta he’s attracted to you, even if he hides it, you know. For once, it gave you hope. Hope that you can finally get away from your family. That you would actually be able to have your own life. Sam could be your lifeline, you just knew it.

Which is how you’ve ended up with Sam, walking through a huge store. The minute you had told Sam about your parents, about your life, he whisked you away. He didn’t even have to think twice about it. He knew how he felt about you. And now he’s determined to get you anything you need. His brother, Dean, was back at the bunker. The other being an omega, allowing him to help Sam with setting up a room for you there. Sam was thankful for the help with everything at home, thankful that you would have someone show how to be an actual omega.
The walls of the store were full of shelves of different blankets and sheets. There were rows and rows of bins, bins that were full of stuffed animals and pillows. Sam had found a local store named Granny’s Nests And Fluff, run by an elderly woman. An omega who wanted nesting to be more accessible to everyone.
Sam, for the past twenty minutes, has been watching you eye the stuffed animals. You had gone up to plenty of the blankets, inspected some pillows, but you didn’t go near the stuffed animals. Even though it was extremely obvious you wanted to. Sam just wouldn’t have that.
“Sweetheart,” Sam gently prompts, a soft hand on your shoulder. “Do you want to go look at the stuffed animals? It’s completely fine if you do, I’m not going to be upset.”
Sam was being as gentle as he could be. He knew this process had to be terrifying to you. You were starting your life over. But he would be here for you every step of the way.
