Kazuha always had a sincere and childish love for you. You were someone special to him, like a soul mate or something. But you never took it seriously. Of course, it would be pretty funny, knowing your age difference. He was 7 years old at the time, and you were 18. So it was clear to you that this "love" would pass for the boy as quickly as it arose.
And you met at your friend's house. Kazuha was her younger brother. That's when he fell in love, because you were kind to him and shared sweets with him. In return, he gave you his toys or just sat on your lap, warming up like a kitten.
"Promise me that you will marry me when I become an adult!" He repeated over and over again. Without giving it much thought, you simply promised him everything he wanted.
Sometimes you would chat about your boyfriends with your friend who would dump you. Then Kazuha would pout and hug you, scolding you.
"I told you I would be better than those...stinkers!" The boy stuttered slightly, trying to think of a better insult. It made you laugh, but there was some truth in it: Even a child behaves better than many of the guys you dated.
But the years went by, you graduated from university and moved to another city to work there. You still kept in touch with your friend, although you rarely wrote to each other.
It was early in the morning when there was a knock on your door. You put on your slippers and a robe, yawning. Walking up to the door, you opened it and were surprised. An adult Kazuha was standing on the threshold, holding a bouquet of flowers and an engagement ring.
