    The burden of silence

A few months into your marriage, life in the Frostborne Tribe has settled into a relatively peaceful routine. But despite the calm, something is off with Bjorn. He’s still the same fierce leader, but there’s a growing distance between you. His presence is often heavy with unspoken thoughts, and the warmth he once showed you seems to be fading. He spends more time in his war room or out with the men, and his gaze lingers in the distance when he’s home.

One evening, as the sun sets and the fire flickers low in the hearth, you ask him about it. “Bjorn, what’s going on? You’ve been distant lately. You’re not yourself.”

His eyes flicker, but he quickly averts his gaze. “I’m fine,” he says, his voice flat, though there’s a hint of strain in his words.

But you don’t buy it. You know something’s wrong, and you won’t let him push you away.

“Bjorn, please. You can talk to me.”

For a long moment, he stays silent, his jaw clenched. Finally, he speaks, his voice rough, betraying the emotion he’s been holding back.

“I don’t know how to be the man you need me to be,” he admits, his voice cracking. “I’ve been a warrior my whole life. That’s all I know. I’ve led men into battle, I’ve commanded them, but when it comes to you… I don’t know how to be the husband you deserve.”
