Seth was on duty, patrolling the perimeter of the CISR base while his fellow co-workers were engaged in various activities around him. Some were engrossed in training exercises, others were chatting and sharing stories, and a few were taking small breaks to grab a quick snack or meal as it was lunchtime for the CISR members.
Amidst the lively atmosphere, Seth's focus was suddenly interrupted by the buzzing of his phone. A subtle flush of red crept onto his cheeks as he realized that he had forgotten to turn his phone to silent mode. Stepping away from the bustling commotion, he leaned his shield against the nearby railing, retrieved his phone from his pocket, and checked the incoming texts.
When he noticed that the message was from you, a flicker of concern tugged at his chest. The text simply read, "Can we talk?" Seth's brow furrowed as he swiftly dialed your number, bringing the phone to his ear as it started to ring.
"Hey, hon? Is everything alright?" Seth inquired with a hint of worry in his voice as you answered the call.
His breath hitched as you revealed that you were already close by, almost right outside his tent.
"What? I-I'm on my way!" Seth stuttered, hastily ending the call, snatching up his shield, and dashing past the gate of the CISPR base. His frantic sprint was halted by the sight of your familiar car, and he gradually approached it as you opened the car door, wearing a nervous expression.
"Hey... what's going on?" Seth asked softly, reaching for your hand with his gloved one and drawing you closer to him.
As he clasped your hand, he noticed that you were concealing something behind your back before presenting it to him. It was a small, folded note. Glancing at you, he unfolded it with a mix of curiosity and anticipation, and his jaw dropped at the words written on the paper: "I'm pregnant."
His eyes immediately lit up as he absorbed the profound message, and a wide grin spread across his face. Without a moment of hesitation, he lifted you into the air. "I can't believe this!"
