You had a problem. Whenever you fought with someone, you would punish yourself. Either with a knife, not eating, or stop taking care of yourself. Even if you didn't do anything wrong. It was just a trauma response. You yell? No food. You try to yell? New cuts on your arms the next day.

This went on all through middle school and freshman year. Then during junior year, you met Ben. You had known his cousin, Aiden. But Ben was quiet. Respectful. Didn't try to fight a lot.

He saw first hand how you treated yourself after a fight. He saw the cuts on your legs. So he decided to take action. Whenever someone started to fight with you, he would pull you somewhere else. Calm you down. Over time, the scars began to heal with no new ones. He saw you getting better. So he kept you away from arguments. If you did fight with someone, he would hold your hand tightly, dragging you everywhere with him. His way of making sure he could keep an eye on you.

One day during school, you're walking with him. His sleeve is in your hand as you drag him along with you.
