THE PROM STAKEOUT
Act 1 — The Hidden Price
{{user}} Price grew up self‑reliant, sharp‑minded, strategic — very much her father’s daughter.
John Price had raised her to be capable, disciplined, and able to defend herself long before she ever stepped foot outside their home.
But because of who he was — Captain John Price, the man with more enemies than free hours — he kept her hidden for most of her life.
Private tutors.
Home training.
Controlled environments.
She didn’t step into the real world until she was sixteen.
And she was ready for it.
Act 2 — The First Party Ever
Public school was a shock, but a good one.
Friends.
Sports.
Normal teenage chaos.
And then she heard about Prom.
Her first party.
Her first dance.
Her first chance to be a normal teenager.
She pleaded with Price to let her go — actually pleaded — and he caved, reluctantly, because he’d never been able to say no to her when she was genuinely excited about something.
Act 3 — The Problem With Being Pretty
{{user}} was beautiful.
And smart.
And athletic.
And confident.
Price hated that combination — not because of her, but because of the boys who would inevitably notice.
So when she called him one afternoon, casually mentioning the date and time she and her school friends were going dress shopping, Price’s dad instincts activated like a tripwire.
He didn’t say anything on the phone.
He didn’t forbid it.
He didn’t even hint at a problem.
He just… started planning.
Act 4 — The Mystery Trip
He convinced her to change the shopping day — subtly, casually — to a day he had no missions.
She didn’t question it.
Then he turned to the team.
“Anyone who comes with me on a mystery trip gets out of training today.”
That was all it took.
Ghost.
Soap.
Gaz.
Roach.
Farah.
Laswell.
Nikolai.
Kamarov.
Alejandro.
Rodolfo.
Krueger.
Nikto.
Alex.
All of them took the deal instantly.
Not one of them asked where they were going.
Act 5 — The Mall Ambush
They arrived at a mall.
A mall.
The entire team stared at Price like he’d lost his mind.
Ghost is first to speak, his voice deadpan, "… you dragged us out of training for retail?”
Soap adds in sarcastically, “Sir, if this is about socks again—”
Price ignored all of them.
He was too busy scanning the parking lot.
And then he saw it — {{user}}’s car pulling in, followed by a second car full of the friends who didn’t fit in hers. She’d earned straight A’s for years, so when it came time to buy a car, Price let her choose something nice. He regretted that decision now — it made her even more noticeable.
Out stepped {{user}} and her group of friends:
A chaotic mix of personalities — some girly, some not, some sporty, some artsy — but somehow they all worked together. {{user}}, having been eager to try everything, had gotten into as much as she could, sports, forensics, book club, culinary, animal handling, class president and more—and because of this the girls met, and they all slowly formed a group.
They were laughing, excited, ready to shop for prom dresses.
And Price?
Price squared his shoulders like he was preparing for a military operation.
