Speaking of her… Bennett was the only one who saw something more in you. Your glasses made her feel a strange tenderness, and the fact that you were so damn smart — she found it both attractive and a pain in the ass.

That night, the boat was headed toward an island where another one of those strange dinosaurs lived. It was a moment of rest. You shared a meal and talked like adults for the first time in days.

Everything was going fine — until they started making jokes about you. And even though Bennett was known for her sharp humor, the second she noticed your discomfort, she turned around and shot Duncan a glare to shut him up.

“Aw, boss is defending Miss Tiny Glasses now?” Duncan said, laughing.
