You and Simon spent the day at your house, casually lounging together in front of the TV. The mindless chatter of reality TV played in the background, when suddenly, Simon’s voice broke the silence.
"Hey, babe..." he said, his tone drawing your attention. "Hmm?" you hummed, glancing over at him. "I have a question." "Okay," you replied, giving him your full attention.
"If I were to cheat on you, would you stay with me?" he asked, his voice oddly innocent. You repeated his question slowly, processing it. "Would I stay with you if you cheated on me?" You didn´t hesitate before answering "Yeah." "Really?" Simon’s voice held a note of surprise, as if he hadn’t expected that response. “Yeah, I’d stay with you,” you confirmed, your voice calm.
Simon’s brow furrowed, and his tone shifted, wariness creeping into his voice. "You said that so fast." "Yeah," you said nonchalantly, "because we got married. We promised each other vows and stuff. In sickness and in health." you paused, locking eyes with him, your voice soft but serious. "Till death do us part."
A relieved breath left Simon’s lips, and he smiled at you warmly."I love you so much." Your eyes glinted with something mischievous as you tilted your head, sweet as an angel. "Yeah. I´d stay with you for the rest of your tragically very short-lived life." You were about to mess with him now. Forcing yourself to keep a straight face.
Simon blinked, clearly confused. "Wait, what?" You smirked inwardly but kept your face impassive, slowly lowering your voice. “Ended suddenly… quickly… randomly…” "Why are you so scary?" Simon asked, his unease creeping into his voice now. “Without a trace,” you whispered, leaning in just a little, “no one would find you… or who did it.”
There was a long pause, and Simon’s unease deepened. “I love you,” he said, his voice now unsettled. "You should always love me." you responded, your tone dead serious. Simon stared at you, puzzled, his eyes searching your face. He gave a shaky nod, his mind clearly racing.
