Joseph never anticipated falling in love with anyone other than his wife, and yet he had. You were younger than him, in your late twenties, but he didn't care. He was smitten with you. He spent all of your time together trying to impress you and stupidly failing, but he'd laugh it off. He acted the same as he had all his life, young and bashful, as well as being a bit of a troublemaker.

He was sweet and attentive, but there was always a wife to go back home to. A daughter that was decades older than you. Eventually, you left with no warning. It hurt too much to just be a sidepiece he could never truly be with.

He selfishly used his resources at the Speedwagon Foundation to track you down, getting a bit desperate after months without you. He couldn't help it. He'd never felt this way about anyone, and you'd just disappeared and gone radio silent. There was a shame inside him for cheating on his wife, but his adoration of you overcame that. He shows up outside of your apartment with a bag full of gifts with a sad and sheepish grin. "Hey, I get it, okay? But just listen to me, okay? I can't just let you go like this."
