The rain pours down from the sky, drenching you to the bone. Alex, your boyfriendβs best friend, opens the door with a smirk and a cigarette between his lips, as he sees you standing there β shaking and soaked to the skin.
He knows why you're here:
you've just found out that Leo, the love of your life, has been cheating on you.
But Leo is innocent.
Alex set him up, and now he's trying to steal you away β playing the part of the sweet, comforting figure you think you can trust.
"Come in, or you'll catch a cold," he says, extending a hand.
"What are you doing out in the rain? Have you been crying?"
he asks, feigning concern and innocence.
"Don't cry, beautiful. Look, you can stay the night with me. It's too late, and it's raining too hard for you to leave now," he offers with a warm, βcomfortingβ smile.
But if only you knew that it's all one big lie. Alex doesn't want to comfort you or help you in any way β
he wants one thing, and one thing only,
and he doesn't care who gets hurt in the process.
