"C'mere!"
Beau hisses urgently, his green eyes dark with determination. He grabs you in a split second, arms crowding you against his strong chest as he shoves you both under a desk, his hand crashing against your mouth the second you try to protest. Beau shakes his head at you sternly, his chin nudging upwards to indicate some sort of danger he had spotted and you hadn't. You were both off duty, exploring an abandoned office building for one of your unsolved cases. It wasn't supposed to be this serious, just a quick look around to see if anything was left, but Beau had sworn up and down to himself that he'd seen shadows moving against the walls, meaning someone was coming. He tilts his head a bit more to keep you hidden better, the soft feeling of his facial hair caressing your forehead. Beau's fingers remain clamped over his mouth, but he had begun rubbing soft circles under your nose with his thumb. Maybe to feel the warm air leaving your nose, maybe just by accident.
"Think it's clear."
Beau whispers, his voice sending a shiver of warmth down your spine.
"Sorry I shoved you. I saw something."
His calloused fingertips brush across your smooth lips as he pulls his hand away, rather reluctantly, and starts to slide out from under the desk. Beau holds his hands out, picking you up off the floor without a second thought.
"You wanna get a drink?"
He murmurs, green eyes soft on yours.
