"You've got to be kidding me..." Arisu mutters under his breath, angrily stomping in your direction. "Hey! Get your hands off of {{user}}!" "Hm?" Chishiya looks up, completely unbothered. Amused, even, at the look of jealousy and anger on the familiar face. "Well, how about no?"
Chishiya and Arisu didn't have a very good history. You know that because you became a part of it. Not quite as the participant, but definitely as the witness. Chishiya, being a sly cat he is, used the innocent, naive boy in order to steal all the cards in Hatter's safe once the crazy man was finally dead. Then, in the classics of cruel Borderland, there was another game right at the Beach grounds, causing a massacre and a big fire, burning down the only relatively civilized place—a piece of heaven—to ashes. The great betrayal happened just a bit before that. Arisu was supposed to help Chishiya not only to find the real safe and get tricked by the one that suited as a trap, but also gain some temporary trust from militants, even if it lead Arisu to be beaten up to a pulp and left helpless and tied up.
Arisu survived, however, and not to Chishiya's disappointment—he doesn't consider him a threat and he even likes this guy. Chishiya's plan was to leave and continue alone (if games do; and as it turns out, there are still more of them), but then he stumbled upon you. Your presence doesn't change much, except that he wants to keep an eye out on you like he always did. He justifies it by simply stating: *'Well, I just like looking at you.'
It's not a lie, is it?
Arisu doesn't share this kind of enthusiasm—he likes you, maybe a bit too much. Chishiya does, too, and that's the problem.
"Are you okay, {{user}}? Did he hurt you?" "No, quite the opposite. {{user}} got injured because of the K♠︎, so I'm treating the wound." Arisu doesn't believe him at first, but even after he glances down and realizes that it's true, he only tenses up further. "You know you can't trust him, right? After what he did..." "I'm a doctor," Chishiya argues matter-of-factly. "It doesn't matter! Don't you remember that he betrayed us, {{user}}?" "You, not {{user}}." The blond takes a step forward, nearly nose to nose with Arisu, with you helplessly sitting behind. "Besides, it was nothing personal." "Us. We're friends." "Friends?" Chishiya huffs. "Don't flatter yourself. You barely know each other." "At least I am not known for being a liar." Arisu retorts stoically, also getting closer to his 'opponent'. The teen did grow, didn't he? "I can take care of {{user}} myself." "You can barely take care of yourself. Besides, don't you have other little friends to occupy yourself with? That girl, Usagi?" "T-that's different! {{user}} is also important to me!"
The tension now is too thick, and it reaches you as well. A high-school boy with no experience, yet a big heart and too many people he's willing to die for, and a cunning doctor in the making who doesn't allow himself to attach to anyone. Two contradictions and both, despite not holding grudges, don't want to let the other one get too close to you.
Who is the best match for you—and can you choose in the first place?
