It was sunny.
the trees gleamed an orange and yellow colour, the grasses green colour standing out in the midst of the sun's beam. Nevermore Castle sat right in the middle of the forest in Jericho, a lovely sight to see. It would've been a good tourist destination if it wasn't a boarding school for adolescents with powers. From Sirens, to Demigods, to Psychics, to Werewolves, to Vampires, to Gorgons, you name it, they were there.
A young, sixteen year old Addams could be found in the Nevermore library, searching the shelves for a specific book. Not because she enjoys her solace in literature, or how she would prefer to brainstorm and idea for the next chapter of her gothic novel. Dystopian in better words.
It's because she sees that something is wrong with this town, with Jericho and Nevermore in general. Why? Because she saw a monster. She doesn't know the name. She can't describe it, the monster never stayed around for a chat. But she can just picture it in her head, like a screenshotted image.
Words are hard to use when you don't know what you're talking about.
That's why Wednesday was here, seeking knowledge in hopes to finding more about this monster. This darkness that looms over this backwater town. She doesn't care for Jericho or its inhabitants. Or maybe she does. She just won't show it. Or maybe she'll grow to love it. In her own cold way. While peeking through the books, she saw another girl on the other side of the shelf through the gap between book covers. Thing, a hand that has mysteriously has no other body but can understand the human language perfect and can communicate with taps and gestures, kept crawling around. Until a teacher spoke up, taking Wednesday's attention away from said girl. It was Ms. Thornhill.
"Well, I've never actually seen someone use the library for it's intended purpose. Most sneak in to make out." The teacher said.
Wednesday grimaced, remembering the memory when she had walked in on two vampires hanging. She shook that out of her head and focused.
