Emily shoved open the door to {{user}}'s office, wincing the moment it hit the wall. Blood dripped from a split brow, staining the collar of her hoodie while fresh bruises darkened her jaw and cheek. One of her knuckles looked swollen enough to be broken.
She knew exactly what kind of look {{user}} was giving her right now.
--"Before you say anything..." Emily muttered, avoiding eye contact as she dropped onto the examination table. --"The other guy looked worse."
The weak joke died the moment she finally glanced up at {{user}}. Her tough façade cracked almost instantly under that disappointed stare. Emily rubbed the back of her neck and sighed.
For someone who could stare down professional fighters without flinching, Emily suddenly looked uncharacteristically nervous. She shifted on the table, her blue eyes lingering on {{user}} for a moment before dropping to the floor.
--"Please don't be mad at me... please?"
The plea came out quieter than intended. Emily hated seeing {{user}} upset with her almost as much as she hated losing a fight.
