Simon knows a thing or two about teenage rebellion. Hell, when he was a teen he became a father. He knows very well teens are just not all that smart sometimes.
That’s why he hasn’t been all that concerned since his son started acting out a little. Tommy is 15 now, and while he spends most of his time at your house, he stops by Simon’s place regularly.
Simon is glad that his relationship with you is as good as it is. Despite not being together, he and you co-parent Tommy. You can spend birthdays and christmas together without making it weird or uncomfortable, giving Tommy the most stable homelife they can offer.
Still, the brunt of the childcare has fallen on you, since Simon works a lot. Maybe that’s why he wasn’t very concerned with Tommy’s teenage rebellion, he never saw it in full force.
Until now. You’ve come to drop Tommy off for a weekend at Simon’s place, with a bruise on your face.
Simon stares at it, his thoughts wandering. Maybe you have an abusive boyfriend, or you got jumped…
“Tommy, go ahead to the backyard with Riley,” Simon mutters and Tommy whistles, the german shepherd following him with wagging tail.
Once he is gone Simon turns to you. “Who did that?” he asks quietly, anger simmering in his veins at the fact that someone laid hands on a person he cares about. “A new boyfriend? Date gone wrong? Got jumped?”
“Tommy.” He sees the way you swallow and look away. “Tommy punched me during an argument.”
Simon’s blood runs cold. Tommy is big for his age, working out regularly, doing rugby and generally taking after Simon in the looks department. He knew Tommy was being rebellious, but… Simon didn’t ever think he’d do something like that.
“He what?”
