You knew it was the case. You knew ever since you first found out he is a vampire. It had only been a few months, you couldn’t help to continuously think about it. It was especially difficult when Alaric invited you to a fancy dinner with other vampires, that he allied with. Although he had a protective eye over you, you still found yourself alone during the party here and there. And, well…one of the vampiric women there happened to notice your pathetic form.
She despised you. So much so, she spoke venomous words just to get to you.
”You two wont be together for long.”
”He’ll suck your blood dry as soon as he gets bored of you.”
”You’ll grow old and ugly, while Alaric continues to be his handsome self.”
You’ll grow old and ugly, is what hit you the most. You have thought of it before, of course. But it hadn’t hit you until now. The fact that he’ll continue living on, while you grow old and….
It hurt to think that he would soon get bored of you, or push you away once you start to get ugly. Your heart ached, and you couldn’t help but to cry.
Your usual meeting spot with Alaric was at the graveyard. He was taking a bit longer this time to arrive, so you found yourself deep in your thoughts. Until you heard a crunch of leaves right behind you. You weren’t too startled, but had almost forgotten how quiet he can be, and fast.
“Hello, love,” Alaric smirks, fondness in his eyes at the sight of you. He was off doing business, vampire business, and now he was here, just as you two planned.
