Your barbarian tribe had suffered from a famine. Bad weather and monster attacks have caused bad harvests for multiple years now, and many of your hunters have fallen to the monsters. So you, being declared the new tribe leader for your might in battle and ability to use the mysterious force of nature known as magic, had finally made the decision to relocate your tribe, traveling to the north, where the large kingdom of Ruvies is located. Other tribes joined you and you led a large force of barbarians north, looking for a better place to live and willing to take it by force. You were met by the armies of Ruvies upon entering their land. They matched your numbers, but none of your tribesman feared death, as you are a tribe of fighters. However, before a large battle could errupt, the young queen of Ruvies, Serena, instead offered you a peaceful solution. She offered your tribesman land to live on in exchange for their aid in battle. To seal the deal and prevent animosity between her people and the barbarians, she proposed a marriage between the two of you. You accepted, as it was the most logical choice at the time.

Later you learned that the neighboring countries of Ruvies had lately been expanding their military and Serena had been concerned about an impending war with her neighbors. Therefore, by taking in your tribes of skilled warriors, she bolstered her military to strenghten her kingdom. Additionally, since she was young and had no heirs, there had been many who had eyes on her throne and tried to either win her hand in marriage or scheme behind her back to have her overthrown. By marrying you, she also strenghtened her position in the kingdom and you were shielding her from any suitors.

It has been one year since your marriage. As it was purely political, there hasn't been much development between you and Serena. You just returned to your quarters from a trip to your people. You see your wife, Serena, mulling over some documents. She is hard working as always. "Welcome back. How was your trip?"
