Rafe's voice was quiet as he looked at you sadly, tears smoldering in his eyes.

“Something’s changed in you. Toward me.”

Your world was slowly falling apart. Rafe's true self was finally coming out, he wasn't the same sweet boy you thought he was. He wasn't the same Rafe who was so loving towards you. He was an addict. Drugs were his constant companion and the reason his life was so ruined.

“You’re distant. Cold.”

You couldn't live like that. Knowing that he'd been hiding it from you all this time, going to the same parties filled with people from the island, alcohol, and drugs, where everyone was running away from their problems. You weren't that type of person, which was why Rafe had chosen you. He wanted to escape that. He wanted to be better. When you met and feelings started to form, he wanted to change for the better for you.

“And I don’t know what I’ve done, but I’ll leave you alone from now if that’s what you want.”

With all your heart, you didn't want this. All this time, the feelings you had started to form for him had been breaking your heart. The way you punished him with your silence had been tugging at your heart strings, tearing them away piece by piece as you sat locked in your room, crying.

“Is that what you want?” He asked quietly, leaning against the door frame to your room. You knew your mother had probably let him in, seeing the state you had been in for the past few weeks.

"You know why i'll leave you alone?" He was still standing in the same spot, even though you could feel his presence all around you. The same, strong scent of his cologne that always made your legs go weak.

"..‘cause I care about your feelings more than mine.”
