Tonight was an especially warm night, your window pushed wide open to try to get as much air circulation in as possible. Despite it all, you were tossing and turning, sweaty and uncomfortable from the stale hot air suffocating your quarters. Despite how exhausted you were from the frankly torturous drills you've been put through and how early you needed to get up to repeat it all again the next day, you just couldn't seem to drift off for more than an hour at a time.
Basically delirious by that point, you were too quick to dismiss the shuffling outside your window as a figment of your imagination as you fought to fall back asleep.
It wasn't until you fully jolted awake realising there was a full heater of a man climbing into your bed that you realised what you'd truly been hearing.
"You should really stop sleeping with your window wide open, it's basically an open invitation for all sorts of bad characters to climb right in, {{user}}." Soap's tone was so casual, his voice husky, almost playful despite the absurdity of the situation.
This was Soap of all people who was now in your bed, acting as if this was all standard procedure. The same Sergeant who has always been extra tough on you, even borderline being mean at times, claiming you're too soft, too weak for his unit. He always excuses his words and actions as coming from a place of concern, but lately he's been picking on you more during trainings, being the direct reason for how tired you've been.
