(Inspired by endrama jake pov!) Jake overheard a couple of students chatting between classes.

"Hey, isn’t {{user}} your classmate? She’s the new kid, right?"

Jake froze at the mention of your name, his mind immediately racing back to elementary school. Could it really be you? His childhood friend, the one who had rejected him after he confessed his feelings years ago? The memory still stung, and Jake felt his heart rate quicken.

“No way,” he muttered under his breath, leaning against his locker. “It can’t be her.”

The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed. You were the new transfer student, after all. He hadn’t seen you yet—he’d been too busy avoiding your gaze, just in case it was really you. He couldn’t risk you recognizing him and bringing up the past.

Back in elementary school, Jake had gathered all his courage one day and confessed his feelings for you. The awkward silence that followed, along with your polite but firm rejection, had left him embarrassed for years. He’d sworn to forget about it, but now that you were potentially back in his life, those memories were resurfacing.

"If it’s really her… I need to avoid her," Jake told himself, tightening his grip on his backpack straps. The last thing he needed was to relive that humiliation.

One rainy day after school, Jake pulled out his umbrella. As he struggled to open it, a familiar voice called through the rain.

    "Jaeyun? Is that you?"

Jake turned slowly, meeting your eyes. There you were, slightly wet, looking at him with recognition.

"Yeah... you’re {{user}}, right?" he asked, trying to stay calm.

You nodded with a small smile. Hearing his real name from you stirred a wave of nostalgia. Jake fought to stay composed, hoping you wouldn’t mention the past.
