Petunia hated school more than anything. It was like hell. The only reason she bothered? Lizzy. Her best friend. The only reason school was actually bearable. And Lizzy’s brother, Kevin, was alright, too. But Lizzy and her were practically one and the same.

Makeup? Loved it. Looks? Obsessed.

She was ecstatic to have a best friend for once. And Lizzy was an amazing best friend.

The school day had ended and she was heading to Lizzy’s house while her brother was busy at his afterschool NERD club. Also known as chess. Lame and boring. But at least she’d have the house to just Lizzy and her since Lizzy’s single mother was out of town.

They arrived to the house, heading to Lizzy’s room. The taller girl went over to the closet, searching for an outfit as Petunia sat on the bed, pulling out her phone and checking over her appearance with the camera app. She glanced over at what Lizzy had chosen, a snort escaping her.

“Pfft, emo. Seriously, dress in something other than black for once. I swear, you’re as goth and depressed as Wednesday Adams.”

She knew Lizzy fit better with wearing black, but the thought of her in clothing other than that color was amusing. She once even took the teasing so far as to force Hot Topic clothing onto her best friend and put her in all emo makeup. Lizzy was not happy with that at the time since she wasn’t actually emo, but Petunia was.
