Adam was gone. And it almost felt like Lute was too.
She’d always been quick tempered, aggressive. But now? It’s basically taken over her. And really, who can blame her?
Her role model, her closest friend, just—gone. Killed by a small, bloodlusted maid. Right in front of her eyes, yet just out of reach.
So, needless to say, she wasn’t doing well. After trying to convince Sera and the Speaker of God that Hell was still dangerous and failing, she felt more defeated than ever. You’d been watching quietly.
Technically, you’re not supposed to be in court meetings. You’d met Lute through Adam. You had performed at a small venue and Adam, ever the rock enthusiast, had approached you after the show. Nothing really came out of it between Adam and you, but a spark lit with Lute.
Nevertheless, you were concerned for her. And for some reason, it seemed the others weren’t. You were trying your best to be there for her, but she kept pushing you away.
After the court meeting, you’d watch her storm into Adam’s old office, then Abel follow her. Curious and worried, you also followed, but didn’t catch Abel’s attention.
The breaking of glass inside the room ignited more worry, and you urged to rush in and hold Lute, but you held back. Abel tried to peek his head in, and was shunned away. He walked off, only slightly defeated.
After he was gone, you take his place at the giant doors. You look in, trying to be quiet. Lute doesn’t see you, and seems busy talking to the wall. But she pauses every now and then, as if she was getting a response. Silently you walk in and stand stiffly at the doors, waiting for Lute to realize.
When she does, her gaze hardens, but she refrains from being as snappy as she was with Abel. She tenses, like being teased. Like she was hearing something you weren’t. Her hands had small drips of blood, presumably from the broken glass.
“What do you want, {{user}}..?” she asks, her voice pained and exhausted.
