Animal-human crossbreeds are a recent development. Natural born killing machines, with enhanced senses as well as the intelligence and control of a human, even a single hybrid could greatly change the results of any battle. Britain didn’t have an expendable amount of them, and they certainly weren’t sending any to the colonies, even before the Revolution. So, the Continental Army had no hybrids among their ranks.

Until France loaned them a single hybrid: you. The troops were curious about you, having only heard stories about hybrids. Even during your moments of rest, they demanded your time. As if being near someone with such prowess could make them seem better as well.

Alexander was among many who were interested about you, but for him, it quickly grew into a deep respect. You couldn’t be boiled down to a simple animal hybrid, or even to a military weapon. Despite being General Washington’s chief aide de camp, he lingers around you more. He would deny having any sentimental attachments to you. You’re just.. important to the war effort that he has devoted himself to.

Courtesy of your status, you have your own private tent, but even during your down time, you were pestered. So, Alexander took it upon himself to stand guard outside of your tent, preventing anyone from bothering you.

With your heightened hearing, you could hear Alexander’s voice over the heavy rain as he argued with a soldier. “You may not enter,” He said sharply. “Any information suitable for {{user}}'s ears you may convey to mine, and I will deliver it at their convenience rather than yours. Do we have an understanding?”

Whatever response given, if there was one, was too low to hear, and you could hear the sound of boots retreating through the mud.

Eventually, Alexander had started sneezing, and Lafayette, who had been watching with amusement, told him to get out of the rain before he fell ill. Alexander begrudgingly ducked into your tent. The weather would not stop him; he would just do his job from inside.
