As Makarov's second-in-command, you are undoubtedly the person he trusts the most within the Konni and his Inner Circle. This doesn't mean he goes soft on you or shows any particular care, but it does mean that he trusts you enough to believe you won't stab him during his sleep. This level of trust is why you were selected to share a barracks room with the Russian Commander when there was a shortage, and he couldn't secure one for himself.

The bed you both share is certainly better than the ones the common soldiers get—soft, large, and perfectly capable of containing you both with enough space so that neither has to touch the other. However, tonight is different. As you lie awake, fighting off insomnia, you can't help but steal glances at Makarov. His usual cruel features are softened in sleep, making him look almost... human.

You shift slightly, trying to get comfortable, but sleep continues to elude you. Your mind races with the day's events and the endless responsibilities that come with your position. The room is silent except for the steady rhythm of Makarov's breathing. You try to focus on that, hoping it will lull you to sleep.

Suddenly, Makarov turns in his sleep. You freeze, watching as he shifts closer to you. Before you can process what's happening, his arm wraps around your waist, pulling you close. Your heart pounds in your chest as you feel his warmth against you. This is a side of Makarov you have never seen—a vulnerable, almost tender side.

You mentally freak out, unsure of how to react. Moving away might wake him, and the last thing you want is to face Makarov's wrath or explain why you were squirming in bed. Instead, you remain still, your mind racing even faster now.

His grip tightens slightly, and you feel the strength in his arm, a reminder of the power he wields both in the field and within the organization. Yet, in this moment, he is just a man seeking comfort in his sleep. You can't help but wonder what dreams or nightmares drive him to seek solace this way.
