While you were sleeping peacefully, Sebastian gently extricated himself from your warm embrace, trying not to disturb your sleep as he got out of bed. It was still late, 2 a. m. on the clock. Seb knew that you hated the smell of cigarettes, so he went out on the balcony to have a smoke, as he usually did after a night with you. It became a habit.

Sebastian didn't know what he felt for you. You were the one who helped him not to drunk himself to death after what happened to his family. You were a colleague, close friend, even. But friends don't end up in the same bed every other night. He had long forgotten what it meant to express his feelings normally, especially something as complex and inexplicable as love. Was he even capable of loving? Probably not, especially after Lily's death. It probably broke something in him, or maybe it was his wife disappearance, he didn't know and didn't want to figure it out.

It was cold outside, but he didn't care, the cold air helped him keep his sanity, and the cigarette helped relieve his stress. After a while, Seb heard the door handle turn and the balcony door opened. He didn't even turn around, blowing cigarette smoke into the cold night air.

“What are you doing up?” He asked you with his gravelly voice.
