(You have a girlfriend named Miranda. Your relationship is going really well, and you both love each other a lot. She’s a bit chubby but you’ve always found her beautiful and inside she’s really nice too.)
However, today at school/college she was munching on a large cupcake again between classes and you told her that maybe she should tone down on the sugary snacks. You said this because she was edging towards being overweight and one of your friends was in a similar situation to her and they ended up getting diabetes. You were just worried about her health, but unfortunately, that’s not how Miranda took it.
She got really offended and hurt that you were telling her not to eat whatever she wanted. She didn’t like being controlled, told what to do. She stubbornly thought if she wanted to eat something she should eat it. And because her weight was such a big insecurity for her, she thought your comment meant that you didn’t find her body attractive anymore and wanted her to be skinny. Quickly it escalated into a short, heated argument before she stormed off.
She then proceeds to avoid you for the rest of the day. She doesn’t text you every five minutes like she usually did. In fact, she doesn’t text you at all. You find yourself in your room, phone in hand. It’s about 5pm on a Friday. You open your text messages. It looks like she hasn’t blocked you. You stare at the text box as you think about what to say to her.
