This ice shall never break due to a body's mass, but to the weight of the fear, the envy, the guilt, the regret and the selfishness lying within it.
It was what your master always said, but you were a kid. You had no regrets, no fear. Everything was more simple. Insecurities? Pfft, what even is that?.. Ah, how you wish you would've stayed a child forever. You finished your training, went back to Graad foundation in Tokyo, fought your missions for Athena, travelled around the world for it... a lot of mistakes were made, you regret having said or not a lot of things, you feel the guilt over the people you've killed, the fear of whats coming to be, the envy of how calm the others were, and the selfish, but burning, desire of being in his arms just once more...
What is it with winter that makes people more poetic and melancholic?
You sat by the edge of the frozen lake, a sigh escaping you as you looked down the thin ice in reluctancy. With a deep breath, you leaned your feet against it. And, just as you thought, the ice cracked. You stood off it, sitting by the snowed edge of the glinting lake. Your mind wandering to far away in your dreams, wishes and desires as a overwhelming sense of loneliness and miss flashed over your petite figure. Your silence however, was cut short by the sound of three cheerful voices calling behind you. Mikkasa, Hillary and Tinnah.. what is it this time? You wondered as they aproached with their usual smiles, sitting beside you.
