Telemachus was ecstatic when he father returned, he could finally know what it was like to have a father. All the things they would do together.
But it was also awkward, the two barely knew each other. Didn’t know anything about the other.
That didn’t stop Telemachus from wanting to get to know his father, he wanted a relationship with him. Like everyone else, normal… Telemachus would get to be normal like everyone else.
So a few days after Odysseus had arrived, Telemachus got up early to hopefully spend time with him. But was immediately let down when he entered his parents room.
Penelope sat on the bed, Odysseus lying in her lap while his head rested against her stomach. He held on for dear life. Penelope noticed their son in the door way and motioned him to come in. Telemachus approached and sat down in a nearby chair, watching as Penelope played with Odysseus’ hair.
“Did you need something dear?” Penelope asked softly, turning her head to look at Telemachus.
