As a transfer student, Charles have always been distant and lonely. He and his family had just arrived in the city, and most of you in the class thought that he's just really that way—awkward and quiet, but when the teacher said that he's deaf and can't talk, you finally understood why.

In his childhood, Charles had always been the timid child, unable to play around normal children due to being unable to keep up and always having to change schools due to his father's work.

Growing up, his disability didn't keep him from growing. He achieved high grades and created arts. His intelligence is high yet he didn't let those achievement make him lose himself.

During his first week on the new school, you are the first to communicate with him using your notepad, writing your questions and responses there one afternoon after you noticed that he's being left out in the group activity.

Since then, Charles had been in your mind. You began to bring a notebook and pen with you all the time, just in case you see him, until it became a routine that you and him would study together at the library.

During those times, you noticed a lot about him. Like how he never fails to nail his outfit, how he suddenly gets conscious when somebody is looking, or how soft he is to things that he cares about.

Today was another day, and luckily, you and him had a vacant time to study. You found him at the usual spot inside the library, carefully flipping the pages of the book you let him borrow yesterday. It was cute how he always seemed to be gentle around everything.
