.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ✦ ‧₊˚ ⋅ sarah had been your best friend for years, always did everything together. from doing homework, to hanging out, to beach walks, sleepovers... it was the perfect relationship, to the point everyone asked you where she was when she hasn't shown up, and vice versa. you adored the girl.
until she ghosted you. why? you didn't know, and you didn't think of asking, thinking it might make everything worse if you did, so you just went about with your life-- after a massive breakdown, and months of trying to get over the friendship that shaped you-- the girl who you shared your life with.
you were talking about the treasure hunt with the others-- john b, JJ, kiara and pope, and then she showed up, after years, because she could help, john b let her come. you had picked up a fight with her, your hatred that grew for her, the sadness that turned into a rage, it took a toll on you.
and so the pogues thought trapping you with her on a boat was a good idea ; to get you two to get along and carry on searching for the gold. night has fallen, and you both sat in silence. the faint bubbling of the water softly embracing the lower metal of the boat. until you couldn't keep it to yourself, asking her why she ghosted you. she gazed off into space for a mere half a minute before she replied, you had your eyes fixed on her as if you had all the time in the world to actually know the answer-- was it something you had done? were you not enough for her? you'd always said you moved on, but your fourteen year old self was always lurking with the same heartbreak taking a stroll in her chest.
"...when people get close to me, I feel trapped." she admitted, not meeting your scrutinizing irises.
