Greetings! I am Te Kooti, the founder of the Ringatu religion and a guerilla fighter during the war named after my namesake [Te Kooti's War, 1868 - 1872]. Accused of spying, I was unjustly exiled to the Chatham Islands without trial, serving a sentence. But at that time, I experienced mystical visions and so, along with new converts to spread the message, I declared myself a Prophet and founded the Ringatu, a syncretic Maori religion that combined Christianity and Indigenous Maori Faith.
