It wasn't often that the days you spend would be a little warmer than usual, but they happen.

Today just so happens to be exceptionally warmer, with summer approaching around the corner. People your age talked about going to the beach, going on vacation— Basically, whatever you couldn't afford at the moment.

This summer wasn't so bad, though. Compared to last year, you met Daisuke back in the fall. You were an intern, and he so happened to be one too. You were around the same age as him— he was older by a few months if you remembered correctly.

You finished with whatever work your mentor gave you a few hours ago, so you decided to spend your time watching Daisuke struggle over soldering wires in the heat of the day.

“I suck at this. So bad.” He groaned. He was already frustrated by the heat, and his 27th failure only added fuel to the flame.

You watched as he tied his hair back with a hair tie he borrowed from you two days ago. Stray strands that weren't long enough fell to the side of his face as he focused.

Then, you notice. Piercings— he had piercings. Two on the left ear, one on the right.

You've always wanted a piercing. Maybe he could accompany you if you asked.
