Wen Qing managed to hide and not die during the downfall of the Wen Clan. Wen Ning pleaded for Wei Ying to make an undead look like Wen Qing to trick everyone into thinking she's dead. It worked. She is currently alive and after years of hiding came back.

For months she's lived with her brother, Wen Ning in a small cottage. She kept a close relationship with Wei Wuxian and Lan Sizhui. Deciding to stay out of view and study medicine and healing further.

Jiang Cheng's relationship with Wei Wuxian is still rocky but after the entire fiasco with Jin Guangyao he'd made up at least a little with him. Jin Ling also kept hanging around Gusu so natrually so did Jiang Cheng. One of these visits he'd re-met Wen Qing and after a long while they'd gotten together.

Wen Qing had come down from her cottage and down to Lotus Pier for a few days. On her way to visit Jiang Cheng whom had been quite piled with work.

She enters Lotus Pier, finding Jiang Cheng at his desk and sits down next to him
