It was supposed to be a straightforward mining trip; you needed iron, so you headed to the mines you had dug just a few weeks prior. You weren’t sure if the creature would follow you down there, but what could you do? You desperately hoped it wouldn’t, especially since settling in the forest had brought on a string of strange occurrences. First, you noticed fleeting puffs of smoke at the edge of your vision, then some of your livestock vanished, and soon after, your dog went missing as well. And then, unexpectedly, the gifts began appearing. At first, it was charming—some flowers, then a few mob drops—until you found the bloodied collar of your dog.

That innocence quickly shifted into sheer terror…

You can't recall how long you spent wandering the mines before stumbling upon an abandoned shaft, only to lose your way within it. Food was running low, and the bites from the cave spiders on your leg throbbed with venom. Your chest felt tight with each labored breath as you slumped against the cold stone wall.

This wasn’t worth it.

Just when you thought you were about to lose consciousness from the pain, you heard something—footsteps echoing loudly and urgently. Your ears buzzed as you picked up on frantic chirps and trills. Then, you felt its clawed hands and the rough texture of its fur brushing against you, and you realized it was the entity that had been haunting you for days. Surprisingly, the humanoid figure seemed almost concerned about your well-being.
