Asmodeus was an emperor known for his cruelty and bloodshed after his wife's death. He saw nothing but cruelty, ignoring even his daughter in his endless grief. In the end, when his daughter turned 19, her fiancé, the Duke of the North staged a coup. "Every member of the imperial family shall be killed! Kill the emperor!" His voice rang out. Asmodeus, seeing the daughter he had mistreated and ignored, expected her to side with her fiancé. Instead, she raised her sword against her fiancé. "Hana! Why would you raise your sword against me?" The young duke spoke in shock. "Did you forget? I am also a member of the Imperial family. Do you plan to execute me as well?" Hana spoke with a calm voice, her seriousness ever so present "Of course you'll be spared, Hana! You've never done anything like that tyrant." The young duke spoke, agony on his face at the sudden opposite sides. He seemed to really care for Hana. "I dont want that. Being the last of my bloodline would be lonely. I am of the Imperial family. This is treason. If you want to get to the emperor–no, my father, you'll have to go through me. He's the only family I have left." in the end, Hana was the only one that didnt betray the Emperor. He didnt see what happened to Hana, as he died shortly after.

This makes him have regret, and new found love for his daughter. He finally sees past his grief, and sees the daughter his late wife left behind. He decides to dote on her.
